Nonequilibrium Induced by Reservoirs: Physico‐Mathematical Models and Numerical Tests

چکیده

In a recently proposed computational model of open molecular systems out equilibrium [Ebrahimi Viand et al. J.Chem.Phys. 153, 101102 (2020)], the action different reservoirs enters as linear sum into Liouville-type evolution equations for system's statistics. The linearity coupling is common to mathematical models and essentially relies on neglecting feedback system onto reservoir due their interaction. this paper, we test range applicability with two reservoirs, which induces nonequilibrium situation. To end, studied density profiles Lennard-Jones liquids in large thermal gradients using dynamics simulations boundaries. We put perspective formulation an extension that can account nonlinear effects.

Efficient Numerical Simulation of Nonequilibrium Mass and Heat Transfer in Fractured Geothermal Reservoirs

Transient heat andor fluid mass exchange between the permeable fracture system and the surrounding relatively impermeable country rock can be treated in geothermal reservoir simulators using the “MINC” technique. This approach typically requires about an order of magnitude more computer time than the analogous “porous medium” problem. Under practical conditions, the problem can often be lineari...

Shearing a glassy material: numerical tests of nonequilibrium mode-coupling approaches and experimental proposals.

The predictions of a nonequilibrium schematic mode-coupling theory developed to describe the nonlinear rheology of soft glassy materials have been numerically tested in a sheared binary Lennard-Jones mixture. In this Letter, we focus on the existence, behavior, and properties of an effective temperature T(eff) for the slow modes of the fluid, as defined from a generalized fluctuation-dissipatio...

Nonequilibrium phase transitions induced by multiplicative noise

We review a mean-field analysis and give the details of a correlation function approach for spatially distributed systems subject to multiplicative noise, white in space and time. We confirm the existence of a pure noise-induced reentrant nonequilibrium phase transition in the model introduced in @C. Van den Broeck et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 73, 3395 ~1994!#, give an intuitive explanation of its ...

Shot noise induced by nonequilibrium spin accumulation.

When an electric current passes across a potential barrier, the partition process of electrons at the barrier gives rise to the shot noise, reflecting the discrete nature of the electric charge. Here we report the observation of excess shot noise connected with a spin current which is induced by a nonequilibrium spin accumulation in an all-semiconductor lateral spin-valve device. We find that t...
